Steven Maynard, MD	Kathleen Delfino, CNM

Woman’s Health Professionals is a collaborative practice, encompassing medical and midwifery care. Steven Maynard, MD, trained at McGill Medical School, Canada, and completed his obstetrical and gynecologic residency training at Brown University’s Women and Infants Hospital, Rhode Island. He is board certified with special interests in minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgery, incontinency, and high risk pregnancy.

Midwifery care is offered by Kathleen Delfino, CNM. The nurse-midwife works in a collaborative relationship with Dr. Maynard, allowing women to choose or combine midwifery with medical care. Nurse-midwives have a special interest in providing time for questions and helping women make informed choices about their gynecologic as well as obstetrical care. The philosophy of Midwifery care recognizes each woman and family are unique. Focus is on the prevention of illness and preservation of wellness. We accomplish this with tools including education, health screening, and encouraging active participation in decision-making. We attend and address emotional and social as well as physical needs

Kathleen Delfino, CNM, is also a graduate of Baystate School of Midwifery. She has practiced at Woman and Infants Hospital, Providence, Rhode Island and Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket, Rhode Island for over thirteen years. She provides gentle, personalized and compassionate care. Her special interests include adolescent care and patient education.

Our practitioners maintain privileges at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket, Rhode Island and Women’s and Infants Hospital, Providence, Rhode Island. Maintaining options at dual sites allows the option of community as well as high risk care if a condition arises, maintaining continuity of care and caregivers. Landmark Medical Center offers homelike LDRP (labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum) rooms with excellent, caring and compassionate nursing staff... They offer childbirth and breastfeeding classes. Anesthesia and pediatric care is available 24 hours a day.
